Pregnancy update

If you don't want to read pregnancy woes and glows, ignore this post.  I wish I had written more about my pregnancies with my first two so I'm trying to write down how this pregnancy is going.

The morning sickness for this pregnancy got better at about 23 weeks.  I do remember a slight improvement around 17 weeks and 20 weeks but 23 was when I started feeling nauseous less than I was feeling not nauseous, if that even makes sense.  Nevertheless, even to this time (at 33 weeks) I still occasionally get bouts of nausea.  Mostly it is a fleeting moment though.  I do tend to go to bed many nights with a stomach ache-not really nauseous but not really feeling normal either.  Most of the time, I'm ok with this. Occasionally, I think "I'm done with this!"

I'm definitely in the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy.  Sometimes I'm not comfortable sitting, standing or walking.  I don't do well standing for long at all-I'm better if I'm at least moving around, walking a little bit. But honestly, I don't mind it too much because I'm not nauseous.  Actually, when I feel like complaining about the uncomfortableness, I usually try to remind myself that I'm not nauseous and this is better.

I still love the feeling of a life moving inside me.  Sometimes she moves in such as a way that it actually hurts-not a lot but a little.  The hardest thing is she seems to like to kick my bladder sometimes.  When she does, I just don't move for a few seconds-for fear of ummm..having an accident.  LOL  It hasn't happened yet, but it is not a pleasant feeling.

I have a bad taste in my mouth a lot of times.  I do try to be better about eating healthy, not processed foods and when I do well, I don't have the taste as much-also, I have fewer stomach aches.  But of course, processed foods are easier so I do eat my fair share of them.  Tums is a help with the taste and occasional heartburn.  I'm not having a lot of heartburn though and I'm thankful for that.

That's about it for the pregnancy update.  As for getting ready for the reality of a baby in the house, well, we're getting there.  I finished putting away all the clothes my sister gave me.  We will be getting a crib within the next two weeks (from a wonderful friend) and my niece has a friend who is giving us a changing table.  We were originally going to buy a dresser to double as a changing table, but after looking at some and realizing that we don't know where the baby will end up in a year or two (sharing a room with older sister or having her own), we are better off just using our dressers.  I was able to clear out three of my dresser drawers and my husband cleared out one.  The baby clothes fit nicely in there.  We'll use the changing table for blankets and burp cloths and such.  Normally, I think a dresser you can double as a changing table is best but this will work out for us this time.  I for one, don't like changing babies on the floor or couch regularly.
